A compact solo apartment on the second floor. Murphy bed that disappears into the wall during the day. Built-in wardrobe, private bathroom with WC. A narrow kitchenette with microwave, coffee maker, toaster, fridge — and a folding table right at the window with a mountain view. Parking space in front of the house. Modern and welcoming, as the listing says.
What sets Hannes apart from its compact format are the window seats. The folding table in the kitchenette, looking out at the Allgäu wooden houses and the mountains behind — breakfast and dinner at the glass front. And the corduroy armchair in the living area, opposite the window niche with its seating. Both places to sit during the day — and watch what happens outside through the window.
Solo travellers who come to Oberstdorf not for the apartment — but for the mountains. Those who hike, run, ski during the day, and need a quiet retreat in the evening. Those who explore the village on foot — village centre and cable car are close; the cable car is about 360 m / 5–8 minutes away. The summer cable car ticket comes with the booking. With the Allgäu-Walser Card you get discounted access to many facilities in the region.

An all-around perfect place for me: a few minutes on foot to train, bus, cable car, and the pedestrian zone. And whatever was missing, Ute brought right away. Even half a litre of milk on a Sunday evening. I'll definitely be back.
For me as a solo traveller, a wonderful apartment in every respect: perfect location (central and quiet), practical and thoughtfully designed, and not least an always-available, friendly and helpful host.
The apartment is ideal for one person and within walking distance of the centre and the Nebelhorn cable car valley station. The summer cable car ticket is included, and Ute as a host makes for a great stay.
Great internet for working remotely, and everything around is within walking distance. The Allgäu-Walser pass is incredibly handy for public transport and the cable cars. I'll happily come back.
